2 meals and $26

Ok, this is so weird that I had to post it.

On a whim, Brad and I went to dinner at a local steak place - you know the type western decor, dark booths, house brewed beer and rootbeer - generally the kind to get a decent steak even if it is cliche. Anyway, we go in, we wait and have a beer, we sit, we order, we get our appetizer and we sit. and we sit. and we sit. Ok everybody knows this story - the server comes out and explains the kitchen lost the order ticket, and that the kitchen is backed up due to large parties, etc. We laugh to the server and say that it's ok, it happens (hey Brad and I have both been in the food industry and it really does happen! lol no biggy.) Then the manager hand carries the meal out and apologizes. The meal is comped, so is dessert, we eat, we giggle about our $10 meal (the server works for tips, and she ran her butt off for us :)) and we left. Didn't think much of it.

Well, Sunday night we decided go to the trusty Olive Garden - since we still had our eating out money :) So we go in and there's a wait, but no one at the bar so we sit there. We order a drink, and our food and we sit. and we sit. and oh salad! and we sit. and we sit. Finally, understanding starts to dawn on Nikki and Brad. And sure enough there were several parties of 12 and the kitchen was backed up. By this time we were full from salad, breadsticks and dipping sauce, so we asked to have the meal packed up when it was ready. Sure enough the manager hand carries the meal out apologizes and the meal is comped. Dumbfounded, we pay our drink tab, and leave a tip; a total of $16. Grand total for a weekend out: $26. Brad and I think we'll be eating in for awhile. ;)
